Hemlock Grove

The first phase of the Garrett County Attainable Housing Project is in Grantsville, Maryland. The community will be called Hemlock Grove. Plans for this project include 63 total units, offering a mix of single family homes, townhomes, and apartments. The majority of these homes will be available to purchase, with a select few available for long-term rent.

This pilot project has been in the works for nearly a decade and has recently been accelerated as the need for affordable and attainable housing is at an all time high. The county secured funding through grants to pay for the infrastructure of the community including public water, sewer, stormwater management, roads, and other infrastructure necessities.

The North Hill Community – 55+ Living

Nestled in the scenic northern end of Garrett County, The North Hill Community offers a vibrant and active lifestyle for those aged 55 and older. Established in 2024, the new, privately-owned community will feature approximately 50 single-family homes designed for comfort and modern living.

Annexation of Hemlock Drive

In addition to the above projects, the Town of Grantsville is annexing some homes in the Hemlock Drive area, expanding the borders by over 20 households, to the west of town.
